How to Set Up Your Parish Email (IMAP) on Outlook, Phone or Tablet
If you’ve recently had your parish email set up with Parish Web & Host, you can access it on your computer, phone, or tablet using an email app such as Outlook, Apple Mail, or Gmail.
This guide will walk you through the basics.
Before You Start
Make sure you have the following details ready:
- Email Address: (e.g. clerk@yourparish.gov.uk)
- Password: (provided to you or set by you)
- Mailbox type: IMAP (this keeps your emails synced across all devices)
Step 1: Test Your Login First (Recommended)
Before setting up your device, we strongly recommend testing your login details.
👉 Go to: https://www.stackmail.com
- Enter your email address and password
- If you can log in successfully and see your inbox, your details are correct
✅ This is the quickest way to confirm everything is working before setting up Outlook or your device.
Step 2: IMAP Settings
Use the following settings when adding your account:
Incoming Mail (IMAP):
- Server:
imap.yourdomain.gov.uk - Port: 993
- Encryption: SSL
Outgoing Mail (SMTP):
- Server:
smtp.yourdomain.gov.uk - Port: 465
- Encryption: SSL
Username: Your full email address
Password: Your email password
